Retail and GK statues
One design for everyone
A studio chooses the character, pose and base, then casts an edition for many collectors. When it sells out, that version is the only one that exists.
ANIME RESIN STATUES · ONE OF ONE
The statue you wanted was never released, or it only exists in a pose you do not love. Commission it instead: your character, your moment, your scale and base, sculpted and hand-painted for your collection with Charles Luminary. No production run and no copies. One statue, made for you.
Urek Mazino, 12-inch resin with LED effect · Kobe Bryant as Sanji, One Piece · Nezuko Kamado
Retail resin and garage-kit statues are sculpted once, then cast and painted in batches. A commission starts from your brief instead.

A commission
You choose the character, the moment, the expression and the scene. The sculpt, base and paint are agreed with you, and the finished statue is the only one.
Bring the piece your shelf is missing. A statue commission is built for these requests.
Unreleased
A side character, a manga-only form, an arc outfit or an original character, sculpted as a full display statue.
Scale
Plan the statue around a 1/6 or 1/4 shelf. The proposal turns the scale into measured finished dimensions, base included.
Scene
Rubble, water, foliage, a rooftop or an energy effect: the base is designed together with the pose, not added afterward.
Finish
Skin, fabric, metal, glow and shadow are painted by hand. For a statue you already own, see collector figure finishing.
Finished anime and manga commissions, with their studio credits.

Tower of God
A 12-inch resin figure with a turning pose, back tattoo and blue LED power effect. Painting by Luminary Studios; LEDs by 3Ready Prototyping Lab. See the ten-photograph case study.

One Piece · Alt.Earth
A one-of-one resin sculpture combining Kobe Bryant with Vinsmoke Sanji, with flame strands sculpted by hand. See the case study.

Demon Slayer
A 7-inch resin figure, hand-painted, with the bamboo muzzle and costume carrying the character. See the case study.
Smaller pieces
For a smaller display figure, chibi or stylized piece, see custom anime figure commissions. To understand what goes into a premium statue, read why resin statues are expensive.
You approve the design before anything is produced, and you see the work as it progresses.
Name the character and describe the pose, scene or scale you want. References can follow after Charles replies.
Pose, dimensions, base, effects, finish, approval checkpoints and shipping are set in a private proposal. For a digitally sculpted statue, you review the sculpt renders before fabrication.
The statue is produced, assembled and painted by hand, with progress photos along the way.
The finished statue is packed in protective crating and sent by insured express courier worldwide.
Every commission is an original sculpt for one collector. Luminary Studios does not recast, copy or duplicate manufactured statues or garage kits. Read recast vs. commission to learn how to tell them apart.
Answers to what collectors ask before commissioning a statue.
Yes. That is the main reason to commission a statue. Send the character, the moment or pose you want, and any references; the design is agreed with you before production.
Yes. Send the measured height of a statue on the same shelf and say whether it includes the base. The proposal fixes the finished dimensions, so a 1/6 or 1/4 scale label becomes real measurements.
No. Every commission is an original sculpt made for one collector. Luminary Studios does not recast, copy or duplicate manufactured statues or garage kits.
Effects such as energy, flames or a scenic base can be scoped in the proposal. The Urek Mazino commission used LED lighting by 3Ready Prototyping Lab with painting by Luminary Studios.
A typical commission takes around two to three months. Size, base and effects work, likeness and revision rounds affect the schedule; the proposal confirms it.
